DANI & ASMAT ADVENTURE TOUR 17D/16N

Day 01 : JAYAPURA - ARRIVAL (D)
Arrive at Sentani airport of Jayapura, met and welcomed by our local representative, then transfer to Motoa Hotel for dinner and accommodation.
Day 02 : JAYAPURA - WAMENA (BLD)
Breakfast at hotel, then transfer to the airport depart for Wamena. Upon arrival, transfer to Baliem Pilamo Hotel. Proceed with an excursion visit Jiwika and then climb up to the salt mine (1hour) to see how the Dani Women make produce salt in their traditional way. Walk down to Sumpaima village to see the old mummy of Mabel's family and their compound. After lunch at Lauk Inn drive back to Wamena crossing over Sinatma traditional hanging bridge and visit the local market of Wamena. Dinner and overnight at Baliem Pilamo Hotel.
Day 03 : WAMENA - SOGOKMO - UGEM (BLD)
Breakfast at hotel, transfer to Sogokmo, then begin your hiking or about 5 hours to Ugem village by crossing over suspension bridge at Sogokmo. Lunch box provided en-route. Afternoon visit the village surrounding. Dinner and overnight stay at local house.
Day 04 : UGEM - YUARIMA (BLD)
Breakfast at hotel, all of you and the porters with our equipment will be transfer by car or truck to sogokmo, then walk about 5 hours to Ugem Village by crossing over suspension bridge at Sogokmo. Lunch will be provided en-route.Afternoon visit the village surrounding. Dinner and overnight.
Day 04 :YUARIMA - SYOKOSIMO (BLD)
Breakfast , then continue the trekk about 5 hours to Yuarima village by passing Hitugi village. Lunch box will be serve en- route. After lunch explore the village. Dinner and overnight stay at local house.
Day 06 : SYOKOSIMO - IBIROMA (BLD)
Breakfast , then walk along the Mugi river side up to Ibiroma within 5 hours. On the way we will cross the suspension hanging bridge. Lunch will be served en-route .Dinner and overnight stay at local accommodation.
Day 07 : IBIROMA - PIG FEAST-TANGMA (BLD)
Breakfast, Half day enjoy the Dani Pig festival and dance. After lunch at Ibiroma proceed to Tangma village within 2,5 hours through the Dani street sweet potatoes garden. Afternoon visit the village surroundings. Dinner and overnight at Missionary house.
Day 08 : TANGMA - KURIMA- SOGOKMO WAMENA (BLD)
Breakfast, then walk back in6 hours to sogokmo, proceed by car to Wamena. Lunch will served en-route. Farewell dinner at Mentari restaurant and stay overnight at Baliem pilamo hotel.
Day 09 : WAMENA - EWER - AGATS (BLD)
Breakfast at hotel, a short transfer to the airport for our flight to Ewer by chartered a Missionary aircraft (cessna). The one hour flihgt will bring tou to the Asmat land in the South coast. Upon arrival at Ewer airstrip, depart to Agats by motori zed canoe within 30 minutes and accomodation at a local Guest House or Losmen. In the afternoon we visit the village of syuru and Asmat Museum. Dinner at local reataurant or food's stall.
Day 10 : AGATS - WARSE (BLD)
The exploration of the inner part of the Asmat swamp lands start within 3 hours motorized canoe trip up the Asswetsy river. In Wrase, famous of their body ornaments and net bags, you will visit the traditional Asmat Family and witness the daily life in the village. Lunch will be provided by box. Dinner and overnight will be at " Jew " a traditional Asmat house of at the teacher house or school subject to the availability.
Day 11 : WARSE-ATSY - OMANDESEP (BLD)
From Warse your Adventure continues up river, crossing over to the Betj river which will bring you to Atsy in approximately 3 hours. While guide report the Travelling permit you may walk around the Atsy. After lunch proceed to Omandesep village for about 2 more hours down the sea and river. Dinner and overnight at school.
Day 12 : OMANDESEP - ASMAT DAILY LIFE EXPERIENCE (BLD)
Today, we spend the whole day with the people of Asmat in the village to experinmce their daily live activities. We may join the Asmat families into forest collecting foods (sago) or fishing down river.
Day 13 : OMANDESEP - BIWAR LAUT (BLD)
From Omandesep we travel back to Arafura, then up to a samall river to village of Biwar Lut. Within one and half hour we arrive at the village and our accommodation is at school or at the village hall. The rest of the day we spend in the men's house or " Jew " to view the Asmat dances with some traditional songs and drumming. Here we also have chance to see the Asmat wood carvers or " wow Ipitj" working on their carving.
Day 14 : BIWAR NLAUT ( BLD)
Today you will stay whole day in the village to explore and experience the daily life of Asmat people. Asmat was fierce head hunters in the past and are famous in their ritual Asmat carvings. Appeasing the spirits of of the dead ancestors is very important to the life of living Asmat. They have have to make a proper feast for that, carve their dead ancestors in the wood and dancing with drums in the Jew to make their spirits happy. Today you will see of Asmat feast and dance in the Jew and you will see and meet some of the Asmat masters carvers. Biwar Laut is a typical village who has a good reputation in making the Mbis pole Ancestors pole.
Day 15 : BIWAR LAUT - AGATS (BLD)
From Biwar Laut you will travel along the coast of the Arafuru sea then on to Assuwetsy river to get to Agats. After 2 hours on motorized canoe you will arrive in Agats. After lunch visit the Asmat museum and Syuru village. Overnight stay at Asmat Inn or Padaelo Losmen.
Day 16 : AGATS - TIMIKA ( BLD)
Today we travel to Timika by speed boat along the soutern coast, and we will arrive at Mapuru Jaya port within 7-8 hours ( including stop at the island ). From Mapuru Jaya will catch a car drive to Timika for about 1 hour, overnight stay at Sheraton hotel.
Day 17 : TIMIKA - DEPARTURE (B)
Breakfast at hotel , then transfer to the airport for fly to your next destinations.
