Which nut is the most nutritious superfood you can eat? There are literally thousands of nuts on the market today, and each one offers a unique mixture of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. Each nut offers its own mix of healing powers. Some nuts are highly soluble in water, some are fatty acids, some have anti-oxidants, some are anti-inflammatory, some aid digestion, and so on. Carrot is probably the one nut that's the most well known. It's rich in beta carotene, vitamin A, and is an excellent source of vitamin A for pregnant women. However, there are many more superfood nuts that offer health benefits of which carrots are only known. Walnuts, Brazil nuts, almonds, pecans, hazelnuts, pistachios, and walnuts all offer digestive, antioxidant, and nutrient boosting health benefits. Some even contain protein.

Orange is another superfood with multiple health benefits. It's rich in vitamin C and contains no fat, cholesterol, or sodium. It's easy to digest, so it provides an energy boost after a hearty meal. Unlike most nuts, orange nuts have been shown to be a good source of antioxidants. Antioxidants help fight free radicals that can cause cellular damage and diseases like cancer. Antioxidants also reduce the risk of heart disease.

Macadamia nuts are one of the most expensive nuts out there. But they're worth every penny. Macadamia nuts contain lots of antioxidants and are a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids which are particularly important in lowering the risks of atherosclerosis, heart disease, and other serious medical conditions like strokes and diabetes. Macadamia nuts are also loaded with health benefits for heart health and general health: They contain significant amounts of magnesium, calcium, and potassium, which are all important to our overall health. If you eat a handful of macadamia nuts, you can benefit from all of those nutty components.

Peanut butter is one of my favorite nuts. I've eaten it since my own parents' generation, and while I don't consider myself a peanut lover, I'm not sure why any could disagree. Peanuts contain soluble fiber, which have health benefits, and protein which are good for you. However, there are many peanut recipes that call for butter, and if you're not a fan of the nut itself, you might not be seeing those benefits. Fortunately, there are many different ways to get the healthful benefits of peanuts, including making your own smoothies, hummus, sauces, and more.

Pecans are nuts that are harvested from the coastal area of Southern France. The nuts have an earthy flavor, reminiscent of toffee or toasted bread, and are rich in nutrients including iron, potassium, and fiber, which are all important to our overall health. Pecans are the perfect addition to a superfood smoothie because of their high fiber content, which keeps your digestive track straight and balances your body's mineral balance. Other benefits of pecan nuts are that they are high in protein and relatively low in fat, making them an excellent choice for a snack.

Blueberries are small berries that are prized for their antioxidant properties. These berries are a traditional addition to the breakfast table of healthy women everywhere, and they provide even more health benefits when consumed in the form of a smoothie. Antioxidants protect your cells from damage, and blueberries are packed full of those valuable antioxidants. This makes them an excellent choice for a superfood recipe as well. As with all berries, there are dozens of recipes out there using blueberries, so you're sure to find something you like.
